Information about Kim

Hello! My name is Kim and I am a final year medical student at King`s College London. I am enthusiastic and passionate about teaching as I find it really rewarding supporting someone with their studies and watching their confidence grow. I myself had tutoring whilst at school to really give me that added boost, so I understand how important it is to have a patient and knowledgeable tutor. I am still at university, so I have definitely not lost touch with studying and how stressful exams can be. Having left school in 2011, I can remember and appreciate how daunting and important GCSE and A level exams are, so on top of good teaching, I can offer advice and support about how to cope with exam stress and university applications.

Availability: I am available most evenings of the week, and occasionally also afternoons. I can come to you or you can come to me, I am very flexible.

Willing to travel: 10 miles

Experience: I have tutored students of all ages throughout university through various volunteering schemes. I have taught students at a centre for children that had been expelled from school, from Key Stage 3 to GCSE level.

My approach is to involve the student in every way. I choose to engage the student and ask them what they would like to get out of a session opposed to putting them through a rigid regime. My teaching style has developed with experience to be quite fluid. As I spend more time with a student, I learn what style of learning works best for them and what areas they find more difficult so I can spend more time and added focus on those areas. I am open and friendly so I make sure the student is aware that they can ask questions at any point. Mostly, I just want to help the pupil get the most out of the session and really get those amazing grades they need to set them up for the next step!
