Information about Carys
My lessons are for students either studying GCSE Chemistry / GCSE Combined Sciences or A Level Chemistry. I will teach any student studying these qualifications despite the exam board they are working with.
The way I work is flexible, I cater personally towards each students learning/revision styles and level of experience/knowledge.
I offer a free consultation with the student, in which I can evaluate the way they learn/revise and the goals they have in mind and what they want to achieve from our work together. From this meeting I can compose a personally catered plan for that student, which includes information such as how often a week I think that student should be studying, what style of studying should they be doing, what resources should they invest in etc. This plan is flexible and can be/should be altered during my work with the student in order for the student to get the most out of it that they can.
I help students not only build up a deeper understanding of their subject but can assist with learning the most effective learning and revision techniques, planning revision schedules, finding the right balance between studying and play in order to limit stress whilst achieving desired grades.
A typical lesson can be either one or two hours for at least once a week although if more time a week is needed that can be organised. I have flexibility for both time and dates.
I am currently tutoring A Level Chemistry student(s). I myself was tutored in Chemistry for the duration of my GCSEs and A Levels (4 years) and so feel as if I have learned first-hand how to help a student through their studies, the way I was tutored has informed my own approach greatly.
I achieved an A in A Level Chemistry and am undertaking an integrated masters in chemistry in the coming year.
Willing to travel: Home Only
Experience: I am very passionate about science particularly Chemistry in fact I am going to be studying an integrated masters in chemistry. I want to help other students develop a similar passion for the subject through our work together, hopefully experiencing the excitement I personally feel when finally being able to grasp difficult theories and concepts.
I myself was tutored for the duration of GCSEs and A Levels by two different tutors. Seeing how this tutoring enabled my growth both academically and personally has greatly inspired me to help other students do the same. I aim to help students achieve their personal learning goals but whilst ensuring the subject remains engaging and interesting and allowing our work together to be varied and fun.
I have very recent experiences going through the GCSE/ A Level process and have learnt plenty about managing stress through effective learning/revision strategies in order to achieve my desired grades. I want to share this knowledge with other students so they can feel satisfied with their own experience of GCSEs/A Levels.
