Information about Rebecca
I am a qualified teacher holding a BA (Hons) degree in Primary Education with QTS and a Master`s Degree in Educational Leadership and Management. I currently work in a Nottinghamshire school in Bingham as a Year 5 teacher and I live in Gedling so I am therefore in an ideal location to travel from either location (or in between). I have worked in all primary age year groups so I am confidently able to support children both in KS1 and KS2. I am also the English Coordinator at my school.
During my time teaching and tutoring, I have worked with children with a range of children with special educational needs, whether that be children who are severely autistic, have anxiety, speech and language difficulties, mobility difficulties, global delay, processing difficulties or are dyslexic or dyspraxic. I adapt my tutoring to meet the needs of every child, making sure the lesson is suited to their ability in an enjoyable and engaging way.
I believe children should all be given opportunities to learn. I understand that different children respond in different ways to learning and thus understand the importance of adapting teaching styles and techniques to suit individual children. My belief is that children should enjoy learning and therefore learning needs to have an element of fun and creativity involved too.
I am able to support with confidence building; closing gaps in attainment; pushing children of all abilities and I am also confident in teaching `Rainbow Grammar`, which is something that I many schools are now using in Nottingham(shire).
I can support with homework or I can pre-teach concepts or tackle misconceptions that have not had time to be addressed in school.
Availability: Weekdays after school and weekends.
If I am unavailable, I have many colleagues who offer tuition so I am happy to point you in the right direction of another tutor if that would help.
Willing to travel: 3 miles
Experience: I am a very friendly and outgoing person with a love for the teaching of children. I have worked in both inner city and county schools. I am very up to date with best practice and I feel confident in my ability to teach to push children to reach their potential.
I have been tutoring children of a range of ages for over 10 years and I have supported children in a variety of ways from exam preparation to confidence building. I can provide support with phonics, maths, reading, writing and grammar from aged 3-11. I am competent in providing tuition towards SATs (KS1 and KS2) and I have also supported children with entry exams to independent schools through the 11+.
I have a proven track record for success, with parents and children both feeling more confident in their abilities.
