Information about Amna

I am a final year medical student at Barts and the London School of Medicine (Queen Mary, University of London) and also hold an iBSc degree in Sports and Exercise Medicine. I have been a private tutor for 6 years and a UKCAT/BMAT/HPAT teacher for Kaplan Test Prep International for 4 years and ongoing, and also work at the Centre of the Cell educational centre. I tutor students of various abilities, ranging from primary school to GCSE and A-Levels. I am a very professional and well-mannered teacher, and confident in my abilities to ensure that students reach their maximum potential in whichever field they are studying and wishing to pursue further. I am a very organised and timely person and 100% committed to students` success. I believe I am a very friendly personality and easy to get along with! I hope that you will think so too! I enjoy teaching greatly and get involved in every opportunity to combine teaching with my medical degree. My students always seem to enjoy their lessons as I try to make my teaching fun and relatable. My future career plans are to specialise in Obstetrics & Gynaecology. My qualifiations background include studying at the Bradford Girls Grammar School and Dixons City Academy, achieving 2A*s and 1 A at A-Levels in Biology, Chemistry and Geography, and 7 A*s and 7 As at GCSE.

Availability: I am available to tutor students on week day afternoons/evenings and weekends. My timings are flexible and I am willing to discuss this and reach a mutual agreement with my student.

Willing to travel: 3 miles

Experience: I have been a private tutor for 6 years, tutoring students of various abilities, ranging from primary school to GCSE and A-Levels. My strongest areas are the sciences, as I have a strong science background and am undertaking a medical degree. However I can also confidently teach Maths and ICT. I am also a mentor/tutor for fellow medical students in the years below me (years 1-4). I also work as a teacher for Kaplan Test Prep, preparing students for Medical School admissions exams, such as the UKCAT, BMAT and HPAT, and have very high rankings. I have also tutored students privately with their UCAS applications and personal statements, as well as interview preparation, and so far have a 100% success rate with all of these students having obtained at least one interview for medical school. I also work at the Centre of the Cell Education Centre, and with Barts and the London Teddy Bear Hospital which aims to educate primary school children about medicine, health & hygiene, as well as the Barts Students` Association for Medical and Dental Applicants (SAMDA) which aims to provide secondary school children help with their UCAS applications. I am also an ambassador for QM Widening Participation which aims to increase access to higher education for students from disadvantaged backgrounds in East London.

availability is very poor. in 4 weeks manage one hour. Last minute cancellation.

Tutors Response :

Dear Mrs Momena, I am sorry to hear that you were disappointed. Unfortunately you contacted me during July which is peak exam season and so I was fully booked. I did try to tutor your child nevertheless, however advance bookings have to take priority. Peak season can get quite busy and so I recommend booking ahead of time in future! But once again, I`m sorry for your experience. Best of luck, and of course feel free to get in touch again if you need any help.
