Information about Andy
I`m Andy, living in Swale. I have availability to tutor for the subjects Mathematics, Human Biology, (Please note, I will only tutor A level Human Biology/Physiology) and physics GCSE. I also offer`Kent Test` (11+) Numeracy preparation. I am a member of the UK professional Tutor Association and on booking, my registration is verifiable with the association.
I hold a Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree (2.1) in Health Sciences and public health. This drew on Biology, Maths and Physics. I was able to major in on topics I really enjoyed such as cardiac physiology, respiratory, trauma and pain medicine which relied on a good knowledge base within Human Biology, Physics and biochemistry to understand how these were imaged and treated.
I used mathematics extensively as part of my studies, so I`m confident tutoring maths to KS3 and GCSE level as well as Kent Test 11+ numeracy mentoring.
I can either, travel to the student, or I can tutor online, by initial face to face agreement, using Skype or other communication software. I live in a rural area, hence the difference in my fee for tutees closer to home but I`ve kept my off-island fuel fee to the minimum in order to cover my travelling expense.

A little about myself recreationally - I am a guitarist and musician, playing regularly in church music groups. I also enjoy leading a friendly and fun loving team of Street Pastors in Kent. I enjoy target sports including clay pigeon shooting and long range target rifle when time permits (Home Office licensed).

Experience: I have taught both foundation and higher tier GCSE maths since 2016, with all of my students achieving a strong pass. Currently, as well as teaching and tutoring for maths, I also teach homeschooling students for maths, English and biology to KS3 and GCSE level, which I have really enjoyed.
My previous work was within care of disability and chronic conditions. I have worked designing training workshops for groups of community carers in care for Multiple Sclerosis and MND clients. I use a mentoring approach within my tutoring and aim to make tutoring sessions fun, challenging and confidence building.
