Experience: I am a Primary School Teacher who is passionate about teaching children on a one to one basis to make excellent progress in their learning. I currently tutor children from Year 2 - Year 8 in Maths, Reading and Writing. I have experience tutoring children working towards SATS, 11+ and private entrance exams. I make my lessons fun, active and engaging for my pupils, many who have been with me long term. No matter what the child’s needs are, I enable them to become confident, independent learners. Ensuring children are challenged age appropriately, supports learners to gain confidence when they are back in the classroom.

Mark is very organised and efficient. He assesses my son`s learning stages and gives him resources which suits for his level adjusting every week. My son enjoys his homework which helps him re-cap for his learning from the last lesson. My son is very stubborn so I could imagine that it must be hard work for Mark to teach him but Mark engages to him well, giving him confidence in every lesson. I appreciate Mark`s assessment and teaching skills as a teacher, which has been helping my son to challenge towards 11+ gratefully.

Mark has been tutoring my son online for 11 plus since the beginning of December. Although it’s been a few weeks only, I feel like I’ve hit the jackpot with Mark - he is an incredible tutor and extremely professional. He got in touch with me so quickly after first contacting him on Tutor Hunt and he took the time to speak to me, understand my tutoring needs and very quickly put a plan in place for tutoring my son. He is always reassuring and manages our expectations well. My son loves the lessons with Mark and really looks forward to attending. Mark is very patient, understanding and explains things really clearly. He encourages independent learning and the lessons are very well structured and delivered at a good pace. There is no time wasting and he manages to cover a lot in one hour. Mark is reliable and easy to get in touch with and provides relevant homework to aid my son’s learning. I feel very positive for the future and can see my sons confidence growing. I would highly recommend Mark as a tutor!

i waited a while before providing feedback in order to make sure it was fair and accurate. Mark has got an excellent manner which makes it so much easier for our son to engage positively via our online lessons. The tips and techniques suggested by Mark have proved really helpful as the questions have become more challenging, and when we cover new topics that might prove difficult, Mark is always calm and re-assuring which inspires confidence that we can master the new techniques.
