I am a highly experienced and qualified classroom teacher in Biology and Chemistry to A level and GCSE sciences ( bio chem phys) and maths. The 20 years of classroom experience is invaluable in explaining experiments, practicals and criteria for marking them that so many student find difficult.

I have taught in Northern Ireland, Australia and London. I have excellent results both at classroom level and and as a private tutor . I have recently been employed as an enrichment teacher ( to take results form B/ A to A*) at 2 schools in London and in another school as their "super tutor". The schools normally request that I make an initial assessment of the students and design an IEP for these borderline students.
In the classroom I use many strategies and styles to create a stimulating and enjoyable learning experience. I use teaching styles which match the learner`s cognitive learning style. I have been head of science in one school for sometime and an external marker for exam boards. Both my subject knowledge and ability to develop examination technique are exceptional.

I create a relaxed and friendly environment where the student feels free to answer - as a wrong answer is usually more informative as to how a student perceives a subject rather than a correct one! I can readily identify student`s weakness and work on this. I am excellent at instilling confidence in a student. Students tend to like me a lot! I have a caring and sensitive nature to my tutoring.

I share equal position in two top London agencies as a super tutor and have trained tutors recently. I have been invited by two top public schools to provide enrichment lessons to take students beyond A*.

Biology Tutor
Paul undertook regular weekly tutorials with my daughter who at that time was taking Biology AS and A2. He was focused. He knew the curriculum and the changes in the examination requirements very well. He had an exceptional skill at assessing the strengths and the weaknesses in a child`s understanding of the subject matter. He was flexible giving additional tutorials before the examination. Paul assisted my daughter in developing study skills and most importantly, confidence in her ability to successfully navigate this subject

Chemistry a level tutoring
Paul gave me the confidence and help I needed to do well in my exams. I went from a B at AS to an A* at A level! Paul is really good at explaining difficult concepts by using different techniques to suit your style of learning. I would thoroughly recommend him as a tutor.

Paul has been working with my son since September.

Paul`s experience as a teacher is very obvious. The sessions are planned and structured. Paul has a range of material and suggestions to add to the teaching of the topics, such as using internet sources to add another angle to the session. My son finds his varying teaching techniques helpful especially when covering more difficult topics. Paul has already identified my son`s weakest areas, guiding him to experiment with different approaches to improve his exam answers and revision techniques.

Exceptional experienced Teacher
I had Dr McCusker tutor my Son for Both A level Chemistry and A level Biology. My son had a few problems in these subjects. Especially in understanding how to write up practicals and prepare and write up both ISAs and EMPAs for coursework , and how to produce a high quality synoptic essay in biology.
Dr McCusker`s experience as a teacher within the classroom shone through. He readily explained both the objectives of all the practicals and how to write up ISAs and prepare him for the EMPAs. Furthermore Dr McCusker broke down exactly the marking criteria needed to get a very good mark in the synoptic essay.
All areas very totally clarified for my son - my son knew exactly what was needed!

Paul is an extremely experienced tutor who quickly and accurately gives a diagnostic of weaknesses and strengths.
