Information about Lisa

Hi I’m Lisa. I am a friendly, enthusiastic and effective qualified primary school and ESOL teacher.

After my Psychology degree, I completed a PGCE at the Institute of Education (University of London) where I specialised in the Early Years and KS1. I have many years of teaching experience, both within the UK and overseas.

I am adaptable and flexible, with experience of teaching in a range of learning environments and across all primary phases, from Nursery to Year 6.

I believe in a child-centred approach and plan my lessons according to a child’s unique individual needs. I have a friendly, fun manner and keep the sessions interesting and pacy through a range of activities and games. I provide a broad range of skills to engage and facilitate learning, drawing out the learning potential of individuals so they can make good progress.

I have a current enhanced DBS check and am registered on the online update register.

I look forward to hearing from you to discuss how best I can support your child.

Please note: I am currently tutoring online only.

Availability: I have flexibility throughout the school holidays, ideally between 9am and 6pm Monday to Thursday and after 4.30pm during the school term.

Willing to travel: 5 miles

Experience: I have wide ranging experience in diverse settings both within the UK and abroad over the last 18 years as a EYFS, KS1 and KS2 tutor; Nursery, Reception and Year 1 class teacher; EYFS Phase Leader; supply teacher (covering all classes from Nursery to Year 6); and an ESOL teacher for both children and adults.

I have experience preparing children for 4+ and 7+ entrance examinations.

I have worked with many children and families with English as an additional language (EAL) as well as those with special educational needs (SEND) e.g. ASD.
