Information about Elizabeth

Hi! I am a 24 year old Mathematics graduate from the University of Leeds. Last year i completed a PGCE in secondary maths with an OFSTED grade of `Outstanding`, meaning i am a qualified teacher, now working at a secondary school in Wigan. I have varied teaching experiences both one-to-one and in front of a class, and I am up to date with new teaching methods, ideas, and the curriculum. I have tutoring for over 3 years both online and face-to-face, between ages 9 and 18. I bring my thorough knowledge of maths to every lesson , as well as my enthusiastic, down to earth and friendly personality. During my PGCE training, i worked in both public and private schools, picking up innovative and exciting new ways to teach maths and see results. One of my proudest moments was watching my GCSE class match and exceed the results of the class placed of a higher ability than themselves. I believe that my good results are down to the support and understanding i offer, due to having not long been out of the education system myself.
One-to-one lessons will have a strong focus on personal progress: with the student`s confidence and knowledge on a topic assessed so that i can personalise the lesson around their exact weak points. I do however try to make lessons as enjoyable as possible - maths can be fun!
In my spare time i volunteer at the St Helens Autism and Asperger society, allowing me to work with vulnerable people who have learning and physical disabilities. I have also just returned from working as a SEN teacher in a school in Australia; therefore i am more than happy to work with children with ASD, Asperger Syndrome, and other learning difficulties.
I have a DBS certificate and i am providing online lessons during this time.
I look forward to hearing from you!

We are very happy with our tutor, she is friendly and reliable. She has a good knowledge of the GCSE requirements and is working well with my son.
