Information about Ben
Hi my name is Ben. If you are looking for a tutor to help keep you ahead of the game having missed so much time due to school closures or want to prepare yourself for upcoming exams and returning to school then I am offering tutoring for GCSE and A-Level, in the subjects listed below.
For GCSE:
Biology
Maths, Add Maths and Further Maths
Physics
Art and DT help
A-Levels:
Biology
Further Maths
Maths
Physics
Ive just finished my A-levels at Caterham School, where I studied Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Biology. I achieved 14 A* and 9s at GCSE and was predicted 3A* and an A at A-level and I will be going to study Aerospace Engineering at University. Over the past two years, I have tutored GCSE and A-level students. Recently I have been working remotely, using Google Meet for face to face lessons, which has been very successful, using screen share for key diagrams and workings. Working remotely allows me to be very flexible with timing and so far, I have had positive feedback from students preferring virtual learning. I will always plan a 1-hour tailor-made lesson, addressing what you want to focus on, and then set questions to consolidate learning.
What would I offer for £20 per hour?
Adaptive teaching style to suit you
Lessons focused on teaching understanding
Homework each week to complement the lessons
Develop exam technique
Focus on the structure of maths questions so you dont waste time in the exam
Planned lessons
Encourage questions
Encourage feedback so you can have teaching-focused to what you need
Willing to travel: 8 miles
Experience: Over the last two years, I have tutored both GCSE and A-Level students. They have all appreciated going into the understanding of the subject, which lead to them improving in their topic tests, one moved up to the top of his class in multiple tests. One of my students also won a bet with their teacher who bet anyone a pound if they could come up with a way to visualise if the current was flowing into or out of a wire depending on the diagram. I had already taught him a trick to work this out.
