Information about Lindsay
As you can see from my qualifications I am a qualified teacher but in addition to my qualifications I am also an experienced teacher with a wide range of experience both in the UK and internationally as well as in both primary and secondary education in both state and private schools, I have even spent some time as a private home-school tutor for a high net-worth family.
For the last ten years I have worked as a private tutor who specialises in the 11+ Kent Test and this is the vast majority of my work. However, I don`t start tutoring and preparing children for the 11+ until they have started Year 4, so if a student starts with me in Year 3 for this first year we just work on English and maths in equal or unequal amounts depending on the greatest need.
I am willing to accept children all year round, if I have spaces, and I do not do any testing before accepting a student to prepare for the 11+. I accept all primary school children (in School Years 3-6 ages 7-11) at any time for help with their English or maths but I won`t start with children for the express purpose of preparing for the 11+ after January of Year 5 unless they can commit to two lessons per week (if I have the space and they agree they will be able to manage homework that accompanies it). I do this because I am committed to the idea that any child can pass if they do the necessary work. As much that is tested and assessed on the 11+ Kent Test is not taught at school or ,even if it is, it is tested at a higher level than they do at school, I need enough lessons and time to cover the gaps with my teaching and give them adequate practice.
