I am a very passionate and enthusiastic English teacher who has great experience both as a teaching professional and as a tutor. I use various strategies to encourage and motivate students to meet their full potential. Whilst tutoring, I tend to focus on the areas the student finds most difficult whilst also focussing on the key areas of close reading and critical essay writing.

I genuinely love my subject and very much enjoy tutoring as it affords me the opportunity to sit one on one with a student which unfortunately, I am unable to do whilst in class.

I believe that one on one tutoring can help not only in improving results and marks, but also in the student improving confidence and overall self esteem.

Availability: Week nights after school hours. Please note as I work in South Lanarkshire I am also available for this area too.

Experience: I currently work in a busy mainstream secondary school based in South Lanarkshire.I have experience in teaching all levels of the curriculum and specialise in National 5 and Higher English. I have taught all qualifications and have extensive experience in both delivering and assessing the new National qualifications. Furthermore, I am also a marker for the SQA marking both National 5 and Higher English for the exam board which has again enhanced my knowledge and expertise.

Overall my rate of success is high with the majority of tutees I have helped over the past decade scoring As and Bs. Furthermore, success is also dependent on hard work and application to the course which must also be demonstrated to achieve the top grades.
