Information about Amy
I currently work as a tutor for the University of Oxford. I support their outreach COMPOS program by providing online maths and physics lessons to gifted A-Level students.
I recently graduated with a 2:1 Mathematics and Physics degree from the University of Bath. With over 8 years of tutoring experience I am confident I can help all abilities improve. Everyone learns differently so each session is tailored to the specific educational needs and learning style of the student.
After initially spending two years studying Natural Sciences, a degree combining Physics and Chemistry, I took a break to pursue a job opportunity at Siemens Rail Automation. During my first year with the company I set up and coordinated their science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) engagement plan. This involved creating and delivering lessons in local schools as well as organising our involvement in nationwide events including The Big Bang Fair. In my second year I rotated around various different departments including: bids and tendering; electromagnetic compatibility engineering and; systems engineering. After this experience I decided that mathematics and physics were more suited to me, so returned to university to complete a new degree in these subjects.
Additionally I am a STEM Ambassador which means I volunteer to go into schools and run Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths related: lessons, workshops, assemblies etc. I also am first aid trained as I volunteer for St John Ambulance. Unfortunately due to COVID-19 I am not currently active in these roles but hope to recommence them once it is safe to do so.
I have 4 A-Levels of grade A/A* in Maths, Further Maths, Chemistry and Physics. Additionally I have an A in AS-Level Biology and 9A*`s and 3A`s at GCSE .
Currently I offer both in-person and online tutoring to allow people to choose what they are most comfortable with. Any in-person tutoring will take place at my family home in Aston. Please don`t hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions, I look forward to hearing from you.

Amy is amazing. She started working with my daughter during the pandemic so online was the only option and we have continued that way as it has worked so well. Amy is reliable, calm and patient but also pushes my daughter and has really helped to build her confidence.
