Alice

My name is Alice and I am from Cambridgeshire. I have recently completed my Master of Arts in Modern History at The University of York. My dissertation thesis was ‘Communication and Calamity: Mass media and man-made medical disaster 1950 - 2000’. I also completed my Bachelor of Arts in history at York, and my undergraduate dissertation thesis was ‘“They also serve”: An exploration of the perceived value of dogs during the Second World War’. I have appreciated the opportunity to be able to further my knowledge for history and would relish the opportunity to help others expand their understanding. My A Levels were in History, English Literature and Psychology, so these are also areas that I would be able to help others in.

Experience: I have a BA in History and a MA in Modern History from The University of York. I have appreciated the opportunity to be able to further my knowledge and passion for history and would relish the opportunity to help others expand their understanding. I have helped tutor and mentor students in History and English at GCSE level whilst I was completing my A Levels. Since attending University, I have made presentations to fellow students and lecturers, led an hour long seminar with two others students and worked on group projects which centred around making history accessible to everyone. I am confident in discussing my ideas with others and can explain complex issues in simple terms to help further others understandings. I have worked at Barracudas Activity Day Camp for numerous seasons and babysat regularly so I have plenty of experience in working with children.
