Information about Jasmine

I`m a highly experienced, committed and enthusiastic tutor. I have a 1st class BA(Hons) in English Literature and Drama from UEA and an MA in Acting (Distinction) from the Royal Central School of Speech and drama. I`m a professional Actress, a part-time teacher at The Latymer School, and have been tutoring for the last 8 years.

Our sessions will be fun but focussed we`ll calmly break down the things that are a challenge, and we`ll push and practise to make sure we see the results we`re aiming for. My students and I always work as a team, and that`s what makes the classes great, and the outcomes even greater!

I tutor English Language and Literature, Drama and Media Studies at KS2, KS3, KS4 and KS5, across various exam boards. I support with coursework and controlled assessments, as well as with revision in the build-up to exams. I have tutored over 20 students in the last few years and all have done exceptionally well in their exams subsequently, many going on to take these subjects further in their education. I also offer help with secondary school entrance tests, personal statements and University interview preparation. I have excellent experience with SEN students, and regularly teach pupils with dyslexia.

As an acting and public speaking coach I specialise in preparing students for drama school and NYT auditions, Presenta;;tio;;n Skills for professionals (public speaking) a;;nd Elo;;cutio;;n (pro;;nuncia;;tio;;n, accent reduction). I am a native speaker, English is my first language, and I have a neutral RP accent. I undertook voice training as part of my MA at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama and work professionally as a voice-over actress.

My rates vary from £30-50 session depending on the academic level. Classes typically last between 60-90 minutes.

Availability: I am currently unavailable until February 2018. Please get in touch in the New Year if you would like to work with me and I will do my best to fit you in!

Willing to travel: 8 miles

Experience: 1st class degree in English Literature and Drama from the University of East Anglia and an MA (Distinction) in Classical Acting from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama.

Between degrees I worked full-time as Cover Supervisor at the Latymer School in North London, a role I now fulfil in a part-time capacity. Here I deliver high quality lessons across the curriculum to 11-16 year olds. Other responsibilities at the school have included performance workshop leader, KS3 drama club, KS3 Literacy Support and running the A-Level Lecture Series.

I have been tutoring 7-18 year-olds academically since 2010.
