Information about Lewis

I am currently Head of Spanish at a high performing school based in West London. Throughout my teaching career I have achieved outstanding results at both GCSE and A-level. My average class grade for A-level Spanish is an A and at GCSE, my classes have averaged two grades higher than their predicted grades. I have experience of teaching both French and Spanish at GCSE/iGCSE-level and Spanish until A-level. I am fully equipped to teach both AQA and Edexcel. I also have experience of tutoring students through the 11+ and the 13+ examinations with my tutees gaining entrance to elite schools such as Charterhouse.

After completing my A-Levels in French, Spanish and Geography back in 2012, I embarked on a BA in French and Spanish at University College London. I successfully completed my degree with an Upper Second-Class Honours. I also hold a PGCE from UCL’s Institute of Education and certifications in teaching Spanish from the Universidad de Valladolid, the Universidad de León and Universidad Internacional Menéndez Pelayo in Spain.

I am known for my adaptable approach to student`s needs. I mainly use the EPI approach developed by Dr Gianfranco Conti which mainly involves learning through sentence builders, translating aloud and subsequently manipulating language independently. Clients often comment on my patience, clarity and supportive approach to tutoring and parents consistently provide positive feedback on my communication with them throughout the tutoring process. Proactive communication between tutor and parent - in my view - is key to ensuring the student gets the best tutoring experience.

Lewis not only helped her with her Spanish, but also her confidence. I’d fully recommend Lewis to any potential client.” - Parent of an iGCSE Spanish student.
