Hi. I’m currently working in a school as a teaching assistant. Here I support the class teacher, 1:1 children with additional needs and small groups.
As a teaching assistant, I am aware of the different learning styles of individual students and can adopt different techniques to suit the needs of the child, therefore helping them to gain a better understanding. How I teach is by modelling the answer to the questions, by providing lots and lots of examples. I won’t move on until the child understand.
What makes me a great tutor is that I encourage students to apply their knowledge to lots of different areas in maths.
I am also knowledgeable in English and I can teach your child reading comprehension through reading strategies, such as looking back and visualisation. I teach spelling and reading through phonetics.
