I am a PhD graduate with degrees from the University of St Andrews and Oxford University. I aim to inspire my students to see English as a fascinating, challenging and engaging subject that opens up new ways of looking at the world. One-to-one tutoring can build students` confidence in reading, talking and writing about a text: skills that are relevant far beyond an undergraduate degree in English. I am an enthusiastic and committed teacher, dedicated to tailoring my approach to students` particular needs and learning styles.

My academic interests span both literature and music, and aside from my literary studies I am a keen amateur violinist with a particular specialism in teaching young pupils.

Availability: I currently have availability during the day and on weekday evenings.

Experience: Over the last two years I have worked as a professional private tutor, teaching over thirty students from primary to degree level. In particular, I`ve worked on exam skills for 11+, GCSE and A-Level students, and helped with writing and proofreading skills for school and university coursework.
I was employed for three years by the University of St Andrews as a tutor for undergraduate students.
