Information about Stefania

I`m an Italian mother-tongue schoolteacher qualified in Italy to teach to Students with disabilities and Art History.
I began my studies in a Grammar School studying Latin, Ancient Greek, Philosophy, Literature and Art.
Then, at University, I achieved a Master`s Degree in Modern Studies focusing on Art and Film Studies: my dissertation title was "La Trilogia sul potere di Giuliano Montaldo", an essay on three movies of the Italian director.
I`m highly motivated, professional and committed to leading students to the consciousness of the Italian and European artistic heritage.
I`m very passionate about Cinema, Photography, Music and Performing Arts.
I’m in England for personal reasons and also for my interest in learning more of this country and its school system, to prove here my skills and gain the same time greater professionalism in teaching.

Availability: I`m available as Italian, Latin or Art tutor, both at my address or at student`s home.

Willing to travel: 15 miles

Experience: Since 2007 I worked in several Italian high schools in Pisa, both as Art History and as Special Needs teacher.
In September 2015 I became a tenured teacher in Italy (currently I`m on a period of unpaid leave from my italian job).
I think teaching is essential to try to foster in the student the acquisition of a method suitable for each person: this means that the educational offer must be individualized and tailored for the characteristics of each individual guy.
Although, as I said, I followed the teaching courses on Didactic and on Pedagogy, both related to the teaching of Art history and regarding disabilities, I realized in my experience that there isn’t a lesson that suits everyone.
I have a current DBS check.
Once a week and since June I’m attending a course for Bilingual Assistant Teacher: the course is held by the Ethnic Diversity Service of the Stockport Council.
