Holder of a current DBS(CBS)Enhanced, which is updated automatically every year. I am happy to travel to you (depending on availability) within the areas of Littlehampton and the surrounding districts of Worthing.
Availability: I tutor privately at schools and at client`s homes. I do have some flexibility with hours after school, with more availability during holiday times.
I am fully qualified and can offer tuition at children`s schools, which can often be a more appropriate teaching solution, especially for those children who have a busy home life.
Willing to travel: 4 miles
Experience: Professionally qualified L7 Specialist Teacher with over 20 years experience in teaching and assessing neurodiverse SEN learners with or without a diagnosis of Dyslexia; from Early Years/KS1 to KS3. Worked in a variety of different settings, including Early Years, Primary and Secondary schools and Pupil Referral Unit (PRU). Fully experienced in teaching students of all ages and abilities in small groups and one-to-one. A vital part of my teaching programmes includes multi-sensory methods and individualised learning support strategies that focus on the needs of the individual learner. For example, with `dyslexia`, a programme to develop Literacy skills will include phonics and phonological awareness, Reading Recovery/BRP strategies and spelling skills.
Having had many years of experience teaching SpLD students and having undertaken a variety of intensive training to support their needs, I am fully qualified to deliver a comprehensive programme of support. All support lessons are individualised and designed according to the child`s needs, whilst also looking to promote their self-esteem and confidence. This is the key to their success!
If required, I can offer additional intervention programmes to include support for Dyscalculia, Gross and Fine Motor skills (Dyspraxia)/Writing(Dysgraphia) skills. Supplementary support programmes can also include memory and cognition skills, study and exam techniques.
My experience teaching English to foreign students (EAL) has meant that I can offer a variety of different teaching to suit students of all ages and abilities, from Beginners to Advanced.
My professionalism is maintained through continued membership of BDA/PATOSS, College of Teachers and my knowledge is kept up to date and enhanced through regular attendance of SASC CPD courses and seminars every year. Marion is an excellent tutor. She is kind, patient and encouraging. She has really helped my 7 year old daughter with her reading and confidence in reading. I highly recommend her.

Marion is an amazing tutor. She has been teaching my son for a few months now and he has made incredible progress with his literacy skills. My son has slow processing skills along with dyspraxia. Marion has enabled him to become more successful with his spelling and writing which has impacted considerably on his self esteem. She has turned one very reluctant writer into a young person who now loves to make and write his own books. Marion is kind and caring and completely understands the individual child`s own needs. She has given my son strategies to spell which has turned around his abilities and confidence. We can`t thank her enough.
Tutors Response :
Thank you for such glowing comments E. is such a lovely boy and I thoroughly enjoy working with him. He has an excellent attitude to learning and is diligent and keen to implement any new skills. He has progressed so well and is; quite rightly, very proud of himself as I know you are too. He is developing more confidence as he recognises his own successes, which is wonderful to see! -E. is well on the way to becoming an independent young learner and I look forward to seeing him next year :)

Marion is a great teacher. Our son really likes her and responds well to her approach and teaching method. He was below the expected academic standard for his age but with Marion`s help and support he is now at the correct level and his reading and writing has come on leaps and bounds. We couldn`t be happier and have no hesitation in recommending her.
Tutors Response :
Thank you for such sincere comments Jo Bode has been a delight to teach and I will be very sad to say goodbye. He has made such fantastic progress and his confidence has rocketed too. I am very happy knowing that he now has the tools to go on to become a very confident and independent young learner. I wish him every happiness for the future. Kindest wishes to you all.
