I am a qualified teacher with more than 13 years experience of teaching GCSE, AS, and A-Level Physics at sixth form colleges around London.

I also teach the GCSE Physics and Mathematics 9 - 1 Syllabus.

I am slowly moving towards retiring. Currently I am only teaching part time and thus I have some free time to begin using my skills, knowledge, and expertise, to provide private tuition to students who would like to boost their grades, or gain a deeper understanding of the A-Level or GCSE Physics Syllabus, or gain enhanced expert support beyond what is provided for them in the classroom.

I have taught all three exam board specifications; OCR, EDEXCEL, AQA, and taken many students through all the required Practical requirements over the years that I have been teaching full time.

I am QTS Professional Teacher qualified and I hold a current DBS which can be checked on the DBS update service Website.

I have also been a UCAS Co-ordinator for many years on multiple College Campuses. I have extensive experience assisting students with preparing their UCAS applications and writing their Personal Statements. I have extensive experience advising students on career choices and which university courses to select in order to best attain their career goals. I am willing to tutor and support students with UCAS applications, Personal Statement writing, and university and career choices.

13 years professional full time qualified teacher status (QTS) employment as a Physics Lecturer at 3 different 6th Form Colleges in London.
Familiar with all 3 exam board requirements and have taught all 3 exam board syllabi and practical assessments and evaluated students as competent and safe to carry out all the required practical work from all 3 exam boards. (AQA, EDEXCEL, OCR).

Availability: Tue, Wed, Thu, Evenings, late afternoon.

Tue. afternoon from 1:15.

Experience: I begin by encouraging students to tell me what problems they are experiencing. I use this information with carefully designed assessments to diagnose any deficits in their knowledge and understanding of the subject.

I then design teaching or activities that overcome these problems and allow students to make progress and achieve higher grades in examinations.

To further facilitate students achieving successful assessment outcomes I help them to develop and change their study methods so that they develop a deep understanding of the content. This allows students to apply their learning to successfully solving complex and unfamiliar or tricky problems of the type beloved of examiners.

I have ongoing contact with many ex- students that I have taught or tutored over the last 13 years. We connect via LinkedIn and Facebook. Many of them have gone on to Ph.D. degrees or Master degrees or Professional qualifications. They still contact me for advice and information and to keep me up to date about developments in their lives. I often invite them to come and talk to and advise and motivate my current students.
