Hi, I’m Kirsty and I live in Nottingham, England. I was born in England and I’ve always lived in the UK but I’ve got a passion for teaching and travelling, so if I can combine the two of these then it’s a perfect combination. I’ll be able to teach whilst reaching out to people from all over the world, which I find fascinating. I love to learn more about others whilst helping them achieve their life long goals. I’ve always loved working with children. I’m a full-time teacher in a Year 1 class (5-6 year olds) and I can’t wait to tutor online too!

I tailor my plans to suit the learner’s needs whilst making it fun and interactive to ensure they’re motivated to learn as well as making good progress in their learning journey. My classes are very personalised and activity-based. We will play games, using props (such as teddies, learning materials e.g. alphabet mats, globes etc) sharing video clips, articles, reading stories and much, much more… If there is something specific the learner requires, I can plan it for them and we can do a sequence of lessons to ensure full understanding and improvement in key areas so that they feel comfortable as well as achieve next steps in their learning.

I offer general English and conversational English classes for 5–11 year olds. I can personalise it for them based on their own interests and areas for development.

I believe learning English should be enjoyable so whether they are a beginner or a student looking to be fluent in English, there is always a way to achieve that in a fun and dynamic way.

Availability: I am available Monday to Friday 8am-5pm.

Experience: I have a Primary Teaching Degree (also known as a PGCE), a degree in Studies in Primary Education (BA Hons), as well as a TEFL certification.

I’ve been teaching for almost 8 years and I have taught Primary aged children (aged 5-11 years old).

I have taught in multi-cultural communities in England and I’m currently teaching in a school that has 90% EAL, which means almost all of the children attending this school speak English as an Additional Language.

This has taught me many skills such as patience, understanding, and how to teach in a range of ways to ensure I’m understood. My experience is perfect for teaching English online as I understand the process of teaching another language and the difficulties you may have and how to overcome them.

As well as this, I have mentored a PGCE student and loved helping someone develop their career. If you would like this too, I can give you help, support and further development of your skill set. I have in-depth knowledge and up-to-date training in Primary Education.
