Information about Julie

Bonjour à tous et toutes!

My name is Julie, I am from France and I teach my native language in North London. So here comes the story!
It all started when I went back into studying to get a University Degree in French didactics at La Sorbonne Nouvelle in Paris following which I got hired in the UK to be a language assistant. In addition to the experience, I did distance training to get my Masters degree in teaching French as a foreign language. Once I graduated, I started teaching French in London.
I now teach adults as well as children. I have been working in companies, primary schools, as well as with university, A-level and GCSE students. I also have a lot of experience teaching bilingual families as I’m particularly interested in children’s development of plurilinguism and, in general, in how learning languages is always in constant evolution in someone’s life.
On top of the private lessons I teach, I have put together a group of adult beginners who would like to learn and get confident communicating in everyday French. The idea is to gather a few students so I can charge less than for a private lesson. The class takes place every Friday at 5pm at my place.
As for intermediate speakers, I also run a conversation group at Alexandra Palace every Saturday at 11.30am. Every week, we have a different activity based on a topic to get you to practice in a fun atmosphere.
Bottom line is that the sum of my experiences makes me passionate about diversity and each individual’s cross-cultural experience. That is precisely what I use to taylor my teaching techniques to my students’ needs, help them improve and reach their goals.
But most importantly, I want them to enjoy the process of learning and have a good time!

Availability: Available most mornings as well as well as Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings depending on your location!

Willing to travel: 5 miles

Experience: I’m a native French teacher who’s been working as a freelance teacher and tutor in London for 2 years. My different experiences range from primary school level (I used to work for French clubs) to adult intermediate levels (B1-B2). I’ve been helping beginners learning the very basics of French language so they could start speaking a few words from day one as well as intermediate students who want to brush it up and practice grammar specifically.
I also have experience with GCSE, Alevel and university students developing their skills through the study of specific topics to help them prepare for their different exams!
