Information about Francesca

Salut! I am an enthusiastic and experienced teach of French who would be delighted to help you to improve your language skills and to prepare for your exams. I first fell in love with France as a teenager, mostly because of my love of French food. I went on to study French and Art History at a top University - it was during this time that I really fell in love with the language and culture. After spending a year abroad working in the South of France, I went on to graduate with a Distinction in spoken French. I lived in Aix-en-Provence, Marseille and Nice before moving to London to take up a job in an amazing school, where I love teaching and speaking French every day. I understand that French grammar and pronunciation can be a challenge at times, which is why I am offering to help - I provide clear notes, examples and practice phrases to help boost your confidence and understanding. My students leave each lesson with a sense of satisfaction and go on to get get excellent grades in their exams.

Availability: Monday 6.30-8.30pm.

Experience: I am Head of French at an academically selective independent school where I teach French to 12 to 18 year-old students. I have eight years of experience of preparing students for public examinations, including the Cambridge IGCSE and the AQA A Level. My students achieve excellent results in all components of their exams (speaking, writing, listening and reading and translation (A Level only). Last year, every student in my IGCSE class achieved an A* and every student in my AS class achieved an A (top grade at this level). My students also enjoy learning to master the art of French grammar and pronunciation in my lessons. I also have experience of the Common Entrance requirements as I have assessed many of these papers as part of the scholarship application process at my current school.
