Experience: • Over 12 years’ experience teaching science and maths full-time, following my earlier work as a patent attorney in the Chemical Sciences in London.

• I have taught maths and sciences across all major GCSE/IGCSE and A-level exam boards, including AQA, Edexcel, OCR and CIE, as well as undergraduate biological sciences.

• I have regularly helped students achieve significant improvements in their grades, while also supporting high-achieving students towards ambitious academic goals.

• I have guided more than 10 students to secure places to study science subjects at Oxford and Cambridge.

• I have extensive experience with Oxbridge and university applications, including personal statements, admissions tests (e.g. ESAT) and interviews. I conduct realistic mock interviews modelled on the university interview process, followed by detailed feedback and guidance on how to improve. My experience, together with feedback from previous applicants about their actual interviews, allows me to prepare students closely for what to expect.

• I have particular experience teaching complete courses within accelerated timeframes. This includes teaching the entire AQA A-level Biology course in a single year while also guiding the student’s application for Medicine. She secured a place at Clare College, Cambridge. I have also taught an entire IGCSE Physics course in one year, with the student achieving a grade 9.

• I prepared a student for the Winchester Election, where he achieved the highest science mark in his cohort.

• I helped a student prepare for and achieve a Roentgenium Award in the Cambridge Chemistry Challenge.

• I advised two students on their entries for the Peterhouse College Essay Prize, with both receiving awards.

• Over the years I have built many lasting relationships with students and their families. I believe in being there for my students beyond individual lessons, providing mentoring, motivation and support alongside academic teaching.
