Information about Gabriel

I am a third year PhD student in Economics at the prestigious SOAS, University of London. I consider myself a practical economist, keen on helping students to connect the dots between theory and reality, and this is done by breaking down seemingly complex theoretical artefacts into smaller easy to understand pieces.

I am also working at the University of Huddersfield, Business School, teaching Microeconomics to undergraduates, and supervising master`s students` theses.

I enjoy teaching, as this has been my passion for some time now. With over a decade of experience in academia, I have taught many students, and this has helped me to refine, redefine and improve upon my own approach to teaching. I have thus worked with students at different levels of understanding and endowment, anticipating their efforts and abilities, and crafting, adjusting and forming effective lessons in the process. Every lesson is crafted to make the students wish for more: teaching is fun, and the recipients of knowledge should never feel too overwhelmed as not to find pleasure in this magnificent process. This is where I come in with tailor-made lessons, and an attitude that makes learning enjoyable.

Over the years, I have also worked as a researcher and consultant for international organisations this has helped me to appreciate the practical side of economic theory and its methods, including mathematics.

Studying economics at any level requires an appreciation of mathematical tools: the higher one gets on the academic ladder of the subject, the more mathematically inclined they are likely to become as this is demanded by the profession. Luckily, this has helped me to grow my own mathematical prowess: I would therefore be delighted to share my mathematics knowledge, in addition to teaching economics.

At the end of all this, are happy students with excellent grades in both economics and mathematics, and perhaps influenced, even in a small way, to take on the subjects to higher ground.

Happy learning!
