Enthusiastic maths teacher & tutor of GCSE & A-Level maths – 9 years’ experience tutoring 70+ students of all abilities to success. First lesson FREE.

Over the course of nine years I’ve helped many borderline pass/fail students to increase their confidence and understanding in mathematics. On the flip side, I’ve also supported naturally talented students in reaching, and achieving the top grades. Ultimately, I help my students fulfil their potential and achieve the grades that they deserve – whatever their starting point may be.

While I can and do tutor students of every secondary school stage, I specialise in tutoring GCSE (foundation/higher) and A Level maths. I have a deep understanding of the new GCSE and A level curriculum including the new topics that have been added and the increased focus on problem solving questions. For many, these changes have been intimidating, which I completely understand; as such, my aim is to iron out any problem areas or uncertainties. I am also aware of the differences between exam boards and I adapt my tutoring sessions accordingly.

I tutor in BATH, KEYNSHAM, EMERSONS GREEN and the surrounding areas, and will travel to you so you can learn in the comfort of your own home.

I believe that patience and a calm learning environment are central to progress, and that being at ease with me is key to the success of our sessions. Therefore, I teach at a pace that is appropriate for you, offering plenty of encouragement along the way to boost your confidence. I also encourage my students to ask questions (there is no such thing as a stupid question) and to openly discuss areas of maths that they find particularly challenging.

However, it’s fair to say that I’m not your stereotypical maths tutor. I’m a keen sportsman who enjoys surfing, running, skateboarding and playing football in my spare time. I also like my music and attend several festivals and gigs throughout the year. My down-to-earth nature is another part of what I believe helps my students feel at ease.

To demonstrate my approach and to show you that my tutoring will be effective for you, I offer every student their first session for free.

Experience: As a qualified maths teacher, I’ve taught in a wide variety of school settings – including both state and private schools. Over the course of my career I`ve taught across a spectrum of abilities, including high performing A level students, students with special educational needs and those who I’ve helped in moving far beyond what may have been a potential fail. This experience has developed my ability to adapt my teaching style to suit each individual, whether that means stretching the most naturally talented student in reaching for the top, or motivating those who find maths particularly challenging.

I also have nine years’ experience tutoring KS3, GCSE and A level maths to students of all abilities and have developed strategies to increase the speed of student progress.
