Information about Molly
I am a University Lecturer, with over 10 years of experience of teaching young people. I recently adapted my lecturing skills to teach primary pupils, including my daughter who is currently preparing for 11+.
In adition to a first class BA, MA, and PhD, I have A grades in the core subjects of Maths, English, and Physics at A level standard. I have run University undergraduate courses from years 1 to 3 in the subjects of; Formal Logic, Critical Thinking, Philosophy of Religion, Free Will and Moral Responsibility. I have also tun classes in essay writing.
I am used to making difficult material accessible and engaging to students of a wide variety of abilities, and strive to make material engaging and interesting.
Since having my own children, I have been interested in working towards ways of engaging much younger children. I have successfully tutored pupils for secondary entrance exams, for both selective schools and grammar schools. I am friendly and enthusiastic, and work to raise confidence and ability.
Availability: I am available after school, and on weekend mornings.

Experience: The basic principles of teaching are the same, no matter what age the pupil - to make difficult material interesting and accessible, presenting it in a way that makes it memorable and easy to understand. I have found that real success comes when pupils begin to feel confident and proficient in a subject, as this is when they begin to enjoy the work and are happy to dedicate more time to it. I work to give pupils this confidence.
I am friendly and approachable, and believe that working in a style that boosts self esteem is essential to ensuring that children reach their potential. For each student, I develop a personalised learning plan that caters to their strengths and weaknesses, and I thensupport and enable them to reach their learning goals .
