Experience: Konstantinos took his first piano and music theory lessons at the age of 5 from his father Mathew (a trumpet player, music teacher and conductor to various local march bands). A few years later he continued these lessons and started learning classical harmony at the Ionian conservatory with the Greek composer Spiros Mavropoulos.

During his studies at Music High School of Corfu, he collaborated with other music students and joined in various music ensembles, taking on a different role in each ensemble. He has performed as a tenor with three of the high school’s choirs (byzantine, classical and jazz), as a mandolin player with the high school’s ensemble of Greek folklore music, as a piano player with the high school’s jazz ensemble and as a keyboard player at the school`s first rock group.

After graduating high school, he started composing music using a four-track analogue tape recorder. A few years later, after his participation to a seminar in Digital Music Composition, he started using the computer and music software, composing pieces for piano, choir, as well as ambient instrumental music with digital sounds for videos.

In 2003, he moved to Athens where he finished his studies in classical harmony at Phillipos Nakas conservatory with the Greek composer Joseph Papadatos, taking the Harmony Degree (First Class), and started his first jazz piano and harmony lessons with the jazz pianist Pantelis Benetatos.

In October 2013, he relocated to London where he studied sonic arts and contemporary composition at Brunel University with John Croft, Harald Muenz and Colin Riley, getting a First Class BMus in Composition, and continued his jazz piano lessons with the jazz pianist and composer John Bailey.

In 2015, he received the Steve Thomas Memorial Prize for Composition and in September 2016 he moved to Edinburgh where he finished his postgraduate studies in Composition at the Reid School of Music with the composer Peter Nelson and the conductor Noel O’Regan.

His compositional works have been performed by the Ligeti Quartet, Red Note Ensemble, the Quasar Ensemble, Edinburgh University`s string orchestra, Apartment House Ensemble, Nephele Ensemble, Piano Duo Biondi & Brunialti, the Professor of Artistic Doctoral Studies at the Sibelius Academy & violinist Mieko Kanno, the Director of Performance at Brunel University & jazz saxophonist Frank Griffith and the flutist/composer Georgia Cooke.

He has also collaborated as piano & keyboard player with several ensembles and artists in Corfu, Athens, and London such as the jazz ensemble Jazz Bridge, the music improvisation workshop ensemble New Noise, the Egyptian ensemble Nass Makan, the Greek Ethno/Jazz group Ghost Notes, and the singers/songwriters Kate Thomas, Niall Mac Namee, Andriana Dineva, and Michalis Emirlis.

Currently, he is working on the research project "The Use of Space in the Performance of Live Instrumental Music", as part of his PhD studies at the music department of The University of Sheffield.
