Phonics and early reading and writing specialist!
I am an experienced, dynamic, fully qualified teacher committed to delivering high-quality teaching and learning. I have a stellar track record of working in Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and Key Stage 1 and had the opportunity of being a Literacy Leader in EYFS (3 Nursery classes and 3 Reception classes). I am firmly committed to increasing the standards of teaching in early reading and writing through phonics. My subject specialism is in Special Educational Needs (SEN) at postgraduate level. I have over 10 years of teaching experience, including experience teaching in the United Kingdom (UK), United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the United States of America (USA).

My teaching philosophy is shaped heavily by the work of Howard Gardner (1983). Gardner, a leading educational scholar, contends that, “every child has the potential to be gifted, and that intelligence can present itself in a myriad of ways among different students.” I echo this view, which has shaped my approach to tailoring personalised lessons for students, taking into account varied learning styles and Special Educational Needs. Being flexible with students and their distinct learning modes is vital to my teaching methodology, and a cornerstone of my teaching philosophy. I use a variety of teaching methods to make learning interesting and fun, in order to get the best out of my students.

Availability: I can do online tutoring sessions Monday - Sunday (7am-8:00pm). I am willing to do short term or one off bookings.

Experience: I have 10+ years experience working as a classroom teacher. My specialist areas are Early Years, KS1 and phonics and I have extensive experience teaching in small groups, 1:1 tutoring and whole classes. In addition, I have a good knowledge of the EYFS framework and Primary Curriculum.
