I am a warm, personable tutor with an excellent subject knowledge and a passion to help students realise their true potential. My strong organisational skills and friendly manner means that I achieve the best learning outcomes whilst making sessions enjoyable. One of my main strengths is assessing how students learn and tailoring the sessions for each individual to ensure they thrive and grow in confidence in the subject.

I am an experienced tutor with an extensive knowledge of texts, plays and poetry. I am up to date with the requirements of different exam boards to ensure that I can guide and support students through the curriculum areas that they may find difficult. I am also able to offer further ideas for students to think about in the areas in which they already excel.

AREAS OF SPECIALISM
- English literature: Shakespeare, Victorian literature, excellent poetry knowledge, essay writing and creative writing.
English language: AQA exam board specialism, creative writing, essay writing and structuring answers alongside good exam technique.

- Drama/ Theatre Studies: Shakespeare and his contemporaries, European playwrights, post-1945 British Playwrights, Restoration drama, Greek drama, American playwrights post-1945, play analysis, devising and scri pting, monologues, auditions and performance craft.

- Media studies: Theorists and how to apply these concepts in essays. Understanding what the exam question requires and selecting key evidence. Set texts and CSP knowledge across all boards. I have tutored students in vocational course such as BTEC Creative Media level 2, OCR Digital Media level 3 and also at A-Level (AQA, OCR and Eduqas).

NEA guidance: creating a music video, short film-making, designing a magazine, designing a website, podcast and audio clips, TikTok clips and Instagram photographs.

- Personal statements and applications for future studies: I have 100% success rate for students gaining places at excellent sixth forms, FE colleges, media and arts specialists, such as the BRIT school.
I have experience with university UCAS personal statements and my students being offered places on their desired courses at York, Leeds, Bath, Bournemouth, Liverpool, Bristol and Ravensbourne.
