Karen was an amazing tutor who enabled me to restore my confidence and ability in Chemistry as a subject. She answered all my questions and took me through whole topics in order to help me understand topics I had difficulty with.
Karen is really good. She is very easy to talk to and is very detailed but straight to the point.
My daughter had four lessons with Karen and she finds her very approachable to ask any questions related to the topics. She is very knowledgeable and her teaching room is full of resources available to the students. She gives homework that is reviewed at every lesson.
We`re extremely pleased to have discovered Karen.
Her lessons have been very helpful so far.
Her office is filled with scientific models, visual aids and books for so many exam boards.
My son has responded well to the lessons which appear to be engaging and he is very pleased that the personal tuition he is receiving is able to move along swiftly and has commented that particular topics which took weeks to teach in the classroom (at an outstanding rated local school) were able to be covered far more comprehensively in a single session.
Karen is always very friendly whenever I interact with her and she seems very knowledgeable personally, i.e. she genuinely knows the material itself, rather than simply passing off a list of facts.
Karen is not cheap but we are very happy considering the quality we are receiving.
10/10 would recommend.
Karen has just completed assisting our daughter in her final year of Chemistry GCSE. She initially found this subject complex and difficult to understand. Karen simplified the topics allowing her to grasp the contents more easily thus improving her understanding and resulting in her sitting the exam with confidence!
Thank you Karen for both your patience & support.
Karen is very approachable and thorough. She really knows how to explain complex subjects to teenagers and my daughter comprehension and application of the science subjects has really improved since working with Karen.
Karen is an excellent tutor and I would highly reccomend her!
Speaking as a student I can honestly say she has vastly improved my understanding of A Level Chemistry and even helped me with exam technique. Lovely lady and thoroughly enjoyed all of her lessons :)
Lovely tutor in convenient location for us who could see my daughter at a time that fitted in with her week perfectly. Great find..... thank you and more importantly I guess, my daughter said she helps her to make sense of a tricky start to A level Chemistry
Finding Karen to teach my 16 year old daughter was brilliant. She has a very friendly approach and plans the lesson carefully around the needs of the pupil. She is extremely knowledgeable and patient. She has a lovely classroom in her home with a wealth of resources to cover every aspect of science and for all levels. I would highly recommend Karen as a science tutor.
My son began sessions with Karen after he struggled with A/S Chemistry at the beginning of the year. After a few months, the sessions had significantly boosted his confidence and enabled him to cope with the subject very well. Karen was extremely helpful and encouraging, going through each topic clearly and methodically. In particular, my son found the extra work very useful. The questions (which were also very effective for revision) covered a range of difficulty levels, and Karen was happy to go through, step-by-step, any questions that he had. She was also very relaxed and friendly with a clear enthusiasm for the subject, which made the sessions very enjoyable!
I would certainly recommend her to any Chemistry student.
Had really good impression with Karen. my daughter had two lesson so far, she really enjoys chemistry now!
She`s an excellent tutor for my daughter. My daughter was very happy to have her as a tutor she`s very calm and well prepared each time. Gives homework which is reviewed next lesson, and works with my daughter on her weaknesses. I would recommend her as a tutor.
My daughter is 15 and recently asked for help with Chemistry and we have been amazingly fortunate to have Dr Karen as her tutor. She has seriously impressed my daughter. She is calm, explains things well and is very organised. She prints materials and every topic is on a PowerPoint presentation. My daughter has now started to enjoy science having regretted choosing triple science. We are very happy.
My son is working with Karen to catch up after a difficult year of AS Level Chemistry. I have been impressed since our first meeting, with the discussion and planning and she was very clear what was expected from my son. Karen has a dedicated office to meet with students and it is full of books for her subjects.
I particularly liked the fact that Karen chooses to tutor, she isn`t just someone that thinks they know the subject because they have just passed the exam.
Since starting lessons with Karen my son`s work has definitely improved and just as importantly his confidence has improved so he is much more able to cope with new concepts this year.
Would definitely recommend Karen.
Karen is absolutely amazing- a godsend!
During my AS-level chemistry she helped me get from a U grade to a C grade in a matter of weeks. She explains things very clearly and knows the exam boards inside out. She has a real passion for her subject which radiates onto her students. She`s helped me grow in confidence too. Definitely would recommend to anyone struggling with the sciences.
Karen has taught my daughter for 2 years, in the preparation of her GCSEs in science. Camille has enjoyed the tuition with Karen. She gained a lot in confidence and her results have improved. Karen is a very calm and patient tutor. she has amazing range of resources. I would recommend her.
Isabelle (Camille`s mum)
Karen is very patient and explains things very clearly. She is also flexible and very organised. I would not hesitate to recommend her - in fact if my daughter`s younger sibling ever need a tutor in science, I will definitely choose Karen again!
We are really pleased with Karen`s method of tutoring. Each week my daughter identifies the topic she wants help with this is covered until she has a good understanding. Karen is patient, approachable and helpful and my daughter is very happy with the support she is given. Many thanks Karen.
Karen is an excellent tutor. When my daughter initially went to see her, she was in the Foundation Science set. After a matter of months she was placed in the GCSE Core Science and Additional Science set and began to feel much more confident in this subject. Karen is patient, encouraging and a very good tutor. I cannot recommend her highly enough.
My daughter was being tutored by Karen for chemistry AS and A2 (OCR A) for several months. I highly recommend Karen as my daughter is now much more confident in chemistry and looked forward to her sessions with Karen. Between them they identified my daughters weaknesses in the subject and worked on those things making my daughter more positive about taking the exam and getting the grade that she requires. Thank you so much Karen, we will let you know how she does.
I have been immensely impressed with Karen`s professionalism and efficiency. Her lessons (which are held in a dedicated office) have been well-planned, tailored to my specific syllabus, and oriented to exam success. Karen`s methods focus on developing a genuine understanding of the subject, rather than simply memorising by rote. She also has a wealth of teaching and practise materials to hand for both lessons and homework, which have been very helpful.
Karen has also proved very patient and dedicated, going to great lengths to ensure that I understood the material and had the necessary skills at my disposal to succeed. She also teaches with a contagious passion for her subject!
As a mature student with a humanities background, I was very skeptical that I would be able to cover the entirety of AS and A2 chemistry in just one year, whilst working full time - yet Karen has helped me achieve just that. I am very grateful to her, and would recommend her extremely highly to any student.
Karen has her own classroom full of teaching materials and is very flexible on scheduling in holiday revision sessions where she can. She makes lessons interesting and uses teaching methods appropriate to your child`s learning style. Highly recommended.
My son greatly enjoyed his first lesson with Karen. He said that in one hour he learned more science than in all of Year 7.
Karen is a very good teacher, passionate and really cares about her student. Knows her subjects very well.
She explains things very clearly and concisely. You can tell she is very passionate about her subject and conveys this in the way she teaches. I would recommend her highly.
