I live and have been teaching in Northamptonshire for many years from Key Stage 3 to 5 predominantly. Though I have also worked with younger students in years 5 and 6.

My approach is friendly, supportive and genuine. Clear goals are identified from the outset with the tutee and the student is guided and supported as they move steadily towards achieving them. When tutoring at A level there is a focus on developing extended writing skills and research methods to complete the written component of the course.
I am available on weekdays and evenings as well as weekends. I am willing to travel all over Northamptonshire, Rutland, Peterborough, South Leicestershire to tutor in person, or via online advice for those further afield or in periods of lockdown

I have been teaching for over 25 years in both the State, Independent sectors and Further Education. I have been the Head of Expressive Arts Faculty along with Head of Art for many years. My interest in Art education led me to complete five modules of a Masters in this area in addition to a Post Graduate Certificate in Education. In addition to my teaching I also have a successful ceramic busy and run workshops in Art.

My many years of experience working with young people to develop their creativity and artistic skill using a wide variety of materials means I can support and help develop a portfolio of work which meets the examination board assessment criteria. I have expertise in supporting the production of an interesting portfolio of work to support applications to further/higher education. My experience in regards to this can make a huge difference to the impact of the work and to ensure it runs cohesively showing the best of the tutee’s skills. My experience of working in a range of schools means that I have a proven track record in getting excellent results from students of differing abilities. I am also a moderator for Edexcel Pearson for which I have undergone extensive training.
