Information about Melissa

I am a qualified teacher with over 6 years experience, specialising in KS3, KS4 and KS5 English Literature and Language; English as a Foreign Language; and Beginner to Elementary Japanese. Additionally, utilising my professional experience as a Freelance Traditional Artist and Writer, I can confidently coach students in creative expression.

I have enabled students to prepare for and pass a variety of exams with a very high rate of success.
The fifteen EAL students that I coached during my teaching placement in Spain all successfully passed their Cambridge KET and PET exams. Furthermore, at Dartford Grammar School, I coached two sixth-form classes through passing IB English, with over 50% exceeding their predicted grades and 66% achieving the top grades.

However, I`m also passionate about fostering vital soft skills in students, such as critical thinking, the ability to conduct high quality research, open-mindedness and empathy.

My lessons are fun, challenging and student-centred, which means I can make sure you reach the goals you set at the start of our classes together. Lessons will be personalized to you, matching the type of learner you are, your personality and interests.
