EXPERIENCED TUTOR AND TEACHER!
I started tutoring at the age of fifteen, since then I have had the pleasure of teaching students from all walks of life and I would like to share two of my most successful stories. The first, my youngest student aged eight, was unfortunately under performing, achieving grades 1C’s and 1B’s. He was very much uninterested in education and any conventional style of teaching proved to be ineffective. After a couple of lessons of trial and error I divided the session into short segments by engaging in conversation for two minutes after every five minutes of work. This method resulted in greater productivity in lessons and he now has a more positive attitude towards learning. The outcome was improved grades of 5C in maths and 4C in English.

The second, an A-level student who unfortunately achieved a grade E in Core 1, at the time he was experiencing many family problems and his attendance was poor. Due to his financial situation I initially taught him for free and we started by preparing for the approaching June exams in 2013. Throughout his A-levels his attendance did not improve, therefore, to ensure lessons would take place I was very flexible with lesson times. We began from the basics and discovered that his ability in manipulating mathematics was below average. We concentrated firmly on this for a long period of time ensuring that all techniques were covered in depth. This proved to work very well and all mock tests were giving positive results. Continuing onto A2 his confidence was very low as overall he scraped a grade C in AS mathematics. To combat this I placed him into a small A-level group class so as to to create an element of deliberate competition, this adaptation proved to boost his confidence and his drive grew exponentially. With this new confidence and profound mathematical ability he went on to achieving a grade A*.

I have also worked alongside schools, most recently with Joseph Leckie Academy, where I was tutoring Key Stage 3, GCSE, A-level Mathematics and STEP (an entrance exam for universities such as Cambridge and Warwick). In addition to this I have worked for tuition companies such as Scientia and Explore Learning.

I believe I have a very unique style of teaching, my highly enthusiastic, adaptable and patient approach ensures students achieve their potential and enjoy all lessons. My lessons are very interactive and I try to maintain a friendly but professional relationship with my students.

I hoped you enjoyed reading my profile and I am happy to answer any questions that you might have so please feel free to message me and I will get back to you ASAP!
