Information about Neil

I`m a primary school teacher in Brighton and have been teaching for 17 years in Early Years and KS1.

I offer private tutoring weekday evenings, weekends and during holiday periods for all primary age range subjects, and some subjects beyond primary age. My main areas of speciality are phonics, reading and English at Early Years and KS1. I am happy to tutor other primary subjects up to the end of KS2.

I also offer tutoring in history and politics for children aged 16-18 as these are particular subjects of interest to me.

I love teaching and would love the opportunity to gain some wider experience in 1:1 tutoring. I am an avid learner and reader and enjoy gaining new skills and knowledge.

I enjoy reading, working out, travelling and learning languages. Please get in contact if you would like any more information.

My prices are generally £20 for an hour session, but this will depend on your child`s individual needs.

Though it`s early days (Neil`s visited 3 times), we feel lucky to have found Neil because he`s clearly a very experienced primary school teacher, with a wide range of teaching tools and methods, which allows him to adapt to our child`s variable moods and interests (and our own lack of clarity on what we should be doing). He visits us at home, turns up on time, is calm, patient and flexible and is playing a significant part in our efforts to create a solid home ed structure, for which we`re very grateful.

He is a very knowledgeable tutor and very gentle with his teaching approach. He has a very high command of the curriculum and expectations of learners in his care. Our son is thriving in his work due to the efforts from his tutor.

My son is really enjoying (never thought I’d say that about him doing additional learning!) his tutor sessions. Neil is calm and patient and my son is clearly improving - so far so good!
