Nikita

My name is Nikita, and I am a fully qualified primary teacher and tutor. I have classroom teaching experience of 5 years and 8 years as a tutor. I graduated with a Primary Education QTS degree and a masters in MA Education from Newman University. Currently, I teach online using Zoom for audio equipment or video connection. I will use screen-sharing software, bespoke PowerPoint lessons, worksheets and email for feedback and homework if required.

I also provide face-to-face bespoke lessons at my purpose built classroom with access to physical equipment, e.g. shapes, magnetic letters/numbers, base 10/dienes blocks, etc.

Availability: Weekdays and Weekends 9-8pm but I am flexible with timings.

Experience: As a tutor, I have taught English and Maths up to GCSE Level, ensuring learning objectives are met within the National Curriculum. Additionally, I have taught 11 Plus for Grammar schools in Birmingham and Walsall, including Non-Verbal Reasoning, Verbal Reasoning, Maths and English. All lesson plans are tailored to meet the child`s needs and are reflected in my teaching style as I ensure it is interactive as possible. Once the lesson is delivered, I reflect on the learning and send a detailed feedback email as well as any notes, diagrams or learning tools. I have had massive success in getting children into their preferred Grammar Schools. My masters degree in education has given me a wealth of knowledge that I can apply to my lessons.

I am exceptionally skilled at adapting subject matter to tailor my student’s individual ability and am committed to unlocking my student’s potential and will not hold any student back if I feel they have the capacity to grasp the key stage beyond their age.

Eleven Plus preparation involved discussing and practicing all the types of test questions, building skills in technique and strategy in approaching the questions. With the Maths and English aspects of the Eleven Plus test, I will help students develop their knowledge base and practice answering questions. If I feel a student lacks a particular grasp of a topic area, I will focus on this in order to bring them up to the required standard.

I am extremely passionate and knowledgeable about my subject areas and I am extremely professional in my approach to teaching. Before lessons, I spend time preparing lesson plans with clear goals and objectives that are realistic to my students’ abilities.
