Information about Margaret
I have a genuine passion for teaching. I retired from being a permanent teacher in 2009, and I enjoy working with schools as a bank teacher, sharing my knowledge and skills and learning new initiatives, always keeping up-to-date with strategic changes.
I feel it is important to create a positive learning environment, ensuring that all areas of the class room are structured, and all resources are accessible for independent thinking and learning.
The assessment methods I use are in line with the expectations in EYFS, KS1 and KS2 framework: learn through play, observations, and indoor activities, outdoor play, questioning and answering, peer assessments and discussion. Furthermore I have experience of read, write ink and phonics.
Availability: I am available every weekday and every evening. I am not available at weekends.
Willing to travel: 15 miles
Experience: I am a highly skilled primary teacher who has been teaching across KS2, KS1 & EYFS for the last fifteen years.
I have completed many assignments teaching in a variety of schools across Cornwall, which has shown my ability to develop excellent relationships with children of all levels and abilities. I have taught regularly at Truro Prep School teaching KS2/KS1/EYFS and have more recently finished a fixed term contract with Arch Bishop Benson School teaching Year 5.
I taught for six years at St Michaels School, Truro as the EYFS and KS1 class teacher.
Throughout my career I have planned, delivered and assessed all areas of the EYFS framework, and more recently followed the new KS1 and KS2 curriculum. I have always achieved good outcomes and facilitated progress within the childrens learning.

We are really pleased that Margaret is helping our daughter. Her qualifications are excepted but most importantly she is very friendly and kind and my daughter is really gaining confidence in her Math already.
