Information about Alice
I am a 21 year old tutor, currently studying for a Masters by Research in Biological Sciences at the University of Exeter in Penryn. I recently graduated with a First Class Honours degree in Zoology, and previously studied Geography, Biology and Chemistry at A Level, achieving A*AB, respectively.
I specialise in tutoring Biology and Geography, as well as chemistry and maths (up to GCSE level). I have a friendly, patient and supportive approach to teaching and will plan lessons according to the pupils individual requirements. I hope to work with the pupil to find their best learning style, and provide the support and encouragement they need, whatever stage of their educational life.
I am happy to give help and advice on homework and coursework, as well as writing effective exam answers, revision strategies and time management.
I am pleased to offer 50% off the first lesson.
Availability: ***I am currently not looking to take on anymore tutees - I will update this with my availability when I am able to***
Willing to travel: 5 miles
Experience: I am a qualified teaching assistant at the University of Exeter, with experience in teaching, demonstrating and supporting students` learning through workshops and discussion groups.
Whilst at university I was a Peer Support Session Leader. I mentored first year students and arranged fortnightly activities and discussions on a range of topics, including exam revision techniques, time management and how to deal with stress.
I recently completed the LTHE programme (Learning and Teaching in Higher Education), an award accredited by the Higher Education Academy.
I have also been involved in outreach activities for younger children. For example, I volunteered with the National Trust on their Environmental Education programme, with the aim of inspiring the next generation of young scientists.
