I`m a retired church leader and teacher, based close to the centre of Gloucester. An Oxford graduate, I taught Religious Studies for ten years, years 7-13: including major world faiths, GCSE Philosophy and Ethics, and A level Biblical Studies, Philosophy of Religion, Contemporary Religion and Buddhism. When I trained to teach, my second subject was Maths. I am a published author.

Alongside this examination work, I have considerable experience more recently tutoring for 11+ preparation. Many years ago, I took the 11+ myself - and my results were deemed worthy of a full scholarship to a major public school. I`m a Director of a publisher for 11+ revision, for which I have proof-read a very large number of examination questions. I am very well acquainted with the Schools` Entrance Test for Gloucestershire.

I`m also a widely experienced supply teacher, having served more than 20 local schools, and covering just about every subject there is - including Girls` Dance for a Convent School! I`ve worked on a one-to-one basis with remedial KS3 students in English and Maths., in local schools and for the local Authority.

I`ve been an Examiner / Senior Examiner for more than fifteen years at GCSE level, which has given me considerable insight into examination technique. I`m a Member of the Chartered Institute of Educational Assessors. As a teacher, a father and a grandfather, I greatly enjoy working with young people - and helping them to achieve their very best!

Availability: I`m available most times Monday to Saturday (by arrangement) - to tutor online, at my home, or locally where I can get to you easily (at the moment, I`m not allowed to drive for health reasons).
