Information about Neil

Current employment and title:
Head of A-Level Mathematics at [contact detail removed]

Previous employment and title:
Head of A-level mathematics at London Academy

Education: UCL/Mathematics - First Class

I work primarily on understanding concepts right from the foundation rather than teaching how to answer loads of the same question. This means ensures that students have deeper knowledge of topics and can tackle harder problems. This is why my students perform well, particularly in challenging exams like the Oxbridge entrance examinations.

Availability: I am completely booked for 1 to 1 tuition.

I run mathematics classes in a school in Stanmore. Here I deliver two hour lessons, as well as provide homeworks, regular assessments and corrective questions to tackle your misconceptions. I highly recommend these classes over 1 to 1 as you get more resources for less money.

Experience: Results:

2019:

- One of the students I tutor who did their Cambridge entrance examination for Economics passed and has an interview in December 2018.

-91% of my pupils went up from their year 12 UCAS exams by at least one grade and 55% by at least two grades. Some highlight performances from my class were:
Pupil 1: Finished year 12 with a U and was at risk of dropping maths. She was moved to my class a quarter of the way into year 13 and yet, finished year 13 with an A, incredible!
Pupil 2: Also finished year 12 with a U and was at risk of dropping maths, he secured a B at the end of year 13.
Pupil 3: Achieved a B at the end of year 12 and achieved an A*.
A further two pupils ended year 12s with C grades but worked hard to secure As in year 13.

2018:
- Out of my 32 A-Level students, 29 either maintained their grade from AS or improved with 17 of those 29 going up by one or more grades.
- 100% of my A-Level Further Maths pupils achieved an A*-B.
- Out of my 26 GCSE students, 81% achieved a grade 7 (the old A) or above (with six getting grade 9s and eight grade 8s)

Out of my 10 Further Maths GCSE students, 9 achieved the A* and 1 an A.

2017: My students achieved a record number of A*s in mathematics at A-Levels at my school. In my class alone, 7 out of 11 achieved A*s and 10 out of 11 achieved an A*-B.
