Information about Taybah

Hi! My name is Taybah. I am a medical student at the University of Leeds. I want to provide students with a safe environment in which they can learn without being afraid of making mistakes. At GCSE I have attained a grade 9 in AQA triple science Biology. This was for the 2018 specification which means I am up to date with the specification. I also attained a grade A in A Level Biology. I also attained grades 9-9 in AQA GCSE English Literature and English Language. Finally, I attained an 8 in AQA GCSE Chemistry and an A t A level

My lessons are targeted to pupils who study the following:
KS3/GCSE AQA Biology
KS3/GCSE AQA Chemistry
KS3/GCSE AQA English Language

My teaching style is very interactive to encourage students to build confidence in what they are learning and put their knowledge in to practice. By slowly working through in a methodical way, topics will hopefully become clearer and a lot less scary! However if the student has a preferred way of learning then I am more than happy to adopt whatever way works best for the student`s learning. This is because this is about helping my students flourish and have a say in their education.
It`s only been a few years since I was in secondary school, and I know how difficult it can be. Instead of dreading your biology lessons I want students to look forward to them, knowing that even if a topic is difficult, they have a tutor that they can trust to help them through the content. School is important - there is no denying that; I want to help students get a flying start in life and leave school happy with grades that support them through their stages in life! My teaching philosophy is one of kindness and patience. I don`t believe in getting frustrated and angry over misconceptions - you are students after all, you are still on the path of getting them top grades!

Availability: I am available 8am to 7pm every day of the week.

Willing to travel: Home Only

Experience: I have had many opportunities to deliver lessons to children. Firstly, I have spent a month working with a team of colleagues to design and deliver Spanish lessons. I made sure to make the lessons fun and interactive for the students, making sure that lessons were engaging. I also have had experience mentoring and supporting children who are under their reading age. On a weekly basis I would sit with the students and help them with their reading, asking them what they thought about the book and helped improve their confidence to share their views. Furthermore, I planned and delivered a teaching session on Drug Awareness. I, along side two other members of my team, put together a set of slides and also activities to teach secondary school students the dangers of drugs and alcohol.
