Information about Duncan

Hello!

I`m Duncan, I`m 25 and live in Wandsworth with my partner and our daughter.

When not looking after our daughter, I`ll normally be reading, listening to music or cycling.

I really enjoy sharing my enthusiasm for learning with others. While I have specific subjects I`m particularly comfortable with, there are certain methods which I find very rewarding.

Whether we`re working on interview practice or exam revision, for example, I like to challenge students to think outside the box. When studying literature, this might be an in-depth discussion of an overlooked author. I have an eye for detail and take pleasure in reacting sensitively to literature - I like working to share this enjoyment with students.

Willing to travel: 8 miles

Experience: Since leaving university I`ve worked as a political risk analyst in Africa and in renewable energy.

I`ve got lots of experience in teaching. I tutored frequently while at university, and also taught English in two schools on my year abroad in France. During the same year I moved to Réun ion Island, where I studied and also taught English conversation groups in my free time.

I studied French at Oxford, and took A Levels in French, English and Latin at Eton. My Oxford degree exposed me to world-class teaching through lectures and tutorials. My course covered all periods of French literary history (from the origins of the French language to the present day), and my coursework specialism was in European Cinema.
