Information about Mariama

I am an experienced, motivated and patient tutor, passionate about sharing my knowledge and skills in a range of subjects across all age groups including primary school pupils. ¬¬¬This may include focusing on school exams, coursework, adult education, higher education and professional bodies for which I am ready to assist.

My aim is to make the sessions enjoyable using a variety of methods. In addition as a consultant and trainer I draw on my work in the private/public sectors on policy development and implementation across industry sectors. The subjects I focus on are those that I have studied and trained in and applied the theory in work roles.

Teaching methods
I take a collaborative approach with the student(s) and work to build rapport and trust and clarify where the challenges are in the subject. I introduce and use a range of methods when appropriate, such as written and verbal exercises, discussion, references to text, images and the use of videos in both a one to one and group basis.

Success
I believe that success occurs in different ways. All of my students improved their grades and passed their exams. For certain individuals I witnessed a noticeable improvement in the student teacher relationship, with pupils individually expressing their appreciation of the tutoring sessions.

An important measure that I have found to be valuable is to engage with the parents. Parental involvement when dealing with much younger students where appropriate can be useful in tackling challenges.
