I am friendly and caring mother and teacher, and I love working with children of all ages. I am extravert, bright and bubbly in character. I am passionate about teaching English, Science and Maths in creative and fun ways to stimulate and inspire my students.

At present I run Rutland Genie, a tutoring business, offering English, Maths and Science tuition at primary level and Science and Maths tuition for secondary students including GCSE. I also teach AS Maths and Chemistry and A level Biology. I currently teach a few home-educated families in the school day time and then have primary aged students straight after school. I teach secondary aged students later in the evening and at weekends, offering support in KS3 and GCSE and A level.

I have a top first class honours degree in Biochemistry from Oxford University and have excellent subject knowledge. I also did my PGCE (teacher training) at Oxford University, specialising in science. I have been tutoring and also teaching in both primary and secondary schools for the past 20 years.

I love tutoring as it enables me to both build a positive relationship with my tutee and watch them gain in confidence and subject knowledge. I have many home science and maths resources and can offer a practical element to each lesson.

I love walking, running, cycling and being outdoors. I am happiest up a mountain! I enjoy music and play the violin. I love going to the cinema, theatre and really enjoy the west end musicals. I am a keen photographer and enjoy making photo books.

Availability: I am available weekdays day time and weekday evenings and occasional weekends.

Experience: I have taught in both primary and secondary schools, and now tutor full time running my own business. I have tutored in several home-education situations, and also have helped children prepare for SATs, entrance exams, GCSEs and A levels.
