I am a full time Maths Tutor with over 16 years experience as a Secondary School Teacher. I currently run Easter Revision Courses and as well as 1 to 1 sessions.

I have always enjoyed Mathematics and enjoy sharing this subject with my students. I feel it is important to identify common misconceptions that act as barriers to learning this important and extremely worthwhile subject. Students should be given confidence in their ability to allow them to achieve their potential. Often students have a fear of mathematics and are reluctant to seek the help that they need. I try to encourage students to open up and ask the questions that will help them to progress.

Availability: Updated 19th January 2020 - I currently have NO availability for 1 to 1 lessons, however I am taking bookings for my Easter GCSE Revision Courses (Edexcel Higher & Foundation), as well as A2 Maths (Edexcel) Exam Preparation Course. My Year11 GCSE Easter Revision Courses are in the Guildford area. There are separate courses for students entered for the Higher Tier and those entered for the Foundation Tier. These courses run for three sessions of 3 hours (either 3 mornings or 3 afternoons) totalling 9 hours. Pre-course work will also be given, as well as follow up work after the course. The cost is £180. The dates of these courses are not yet set but they will take place the week beginning 13th April 2020, which is the second week of the Easter holidays for most Surrey schools.

Experience: I have been fortunate to teach at all levels in the secondary setting from Key Stage 3, GCSE to A Level. At A Level I have taught Core, Statistics, Mechanics and also Further Mathematics (FP1). At GCSE I have experience of teaching all levels of ability for both the Foundation and Higher tiers. I have also tutored the IGCSE course. During my career I have worked in both Comprehensive and Grammar schools, giving me the experience of teaching students of various abilities. I qualified as a teacher in 2000 and I have been in employment ever since. I am also employed as a IGCSE Maths Easter Revision Teacher at Wellington College.
