AQA A-Level Psychology specialist with 22 years teaching experience and 19 years as an AQA examiner. Currently Head of Psychology at a grammar school in Kent.

I have spent the majority of my career leading Psychology departments and supporting students to achieve excellent A-Level results.

As an AQA examiner for 19 years, I understand exactly how exam responses are marked and what students must do to access the highest mark bands. I help students develop the exam technique needed to write clear, well-structured answers that meet examiner expectations.

I hold a BSc in Psychology, an MA in Leadership in Education, and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). I am also a Qualified Learning Mentor and Mental Health First Aider, allowing me to support students both academically and personally during the pressures of A-Level study.

I have a particular specialism in Research Methods, which accounts for 30% of the AQA A-Level Psychology grade and is an area many students find challenging. I help students develop confidence with research design, data interpretation, and exam-style questions.

Sessions focus on:

Mastering AQA Psychology content

Research Methods (30% of the A-Level)

Developing high-level essay structure

Improving exam technique

Targeted support to raise grades

I tailor lessons to each student’s needs, whether they require content clarification, structured revision, or intensive exam preparation.

Availability: Monday and Thursday daytime and most evenings and weekends. Happy to do one off sessions during students study leave.
