I am a passionate, enthusiastic person with a good sense of humour and a keen thirst for knowledge. I am a compassionate, ethical, caring professional with a developed sense of personal responsibility and I have a positive, cheerful, confident approach to educating and interacting with people of all ages and backgrounds.I am able to communicate effectively on all levels, and pride myself on being well-organised, well-mannered, determined, imaginative and thoughtful.
I have the strong belief that everyone deserves the opportunity to become great, and a dedication to helping people in any way I can. I am also committed to achievement and progress- I believe if something is worth doing, it is worth doing to the very best of my ability!
I am very open and accepting of pupils of all different ages, religions and backgrounds.

Availability: I am available during evenings and weekends, and most Friday afternoons. I am also available for online tutoring via Skype.

Experience: I am currently Assistant Head of Communications and Literacy Coordinator at an inner city school in Preston that consistently achieves above 90% A*-C grades in English Language and Literature. We achieved the best results in the county in 2017, and are currently the top 10th school in the country- and the top achieving school in Lancashire. I have been teaching for just over 10 years, and I achieve consistently high results every year. In 2016 I was judged as `Outstanding` by Ofsted, and the school achieved the same judgement of `Outstanding`.
During my time as a teacher, I have engaged pupils in a variety of topics and approaches, equipping them with the skills and experience they need-not just to pass GCSE exams, but to become eloquent, ambitious, intelligent communicators. I have developed pupil`s standards, confidence and ambition, encouraging them to aim higher than they feel they are capable of- and often achieving a higher grade than they thought was possible! I have delivered sessions through drama and role play, group work, coaching, and scaffolding to progress to higher level thinking and skills.I have encouraged pupils to aim high and achieve, despite any limitations they may have, and have helped those pupils achieve the grades they deserve.
As a professional, I also mark GCSE exam papers for the AQA exam board, and attend regular AQA meetings and English Language conferences that develop my understanding and knowledge of the GCSE exam. This allows me to develop pupil`s knowledge further, to ensure they adapt the right approach to exam questions.
