Iveta

I am a recent graduate in Masters in Psychology (Conversion) with a previous BA (Hons) Mathematics and Psychology from King`s College London. I am commencing a MSc Mental Health Studies in King`s college London IoPPN followed by a PhD in Psychology in October 2020. I have a passion for teaching and working with young people from all ages. I aim at broadening a student`s engagement by introducing the subject in an interesting manner and encouraging creative thinking.
My Approach:
One of my current students surfers from epilepsy and has shorter attention span thus struggling with understanding and retaining information. While my work with the student is mostly very challenging and requires more patience and a variety of teaching materials and games, it has thought me a lot about working under pressure and how to maintain and develop a deep lasting connection with a student. I have worked on and devised an additional study plan for the student to support their further development and understanding in school while also introducing new concepts and challenging them to expand their skills and desire to learn.

Experience: I have previous experience in Education in the charity organisation Depaul UK both as a volunteer and a full-time member of staff. I have further developed my experience by providing private lessons to students in Maths and English. I have knowledge of and practice both in the Bulgarian educational system and British educational system. I also a pronounced interest in helping and developing groups who require further support – such as Special Educational needs students, as well as students with behavioural problems. I am currently a part time tutor for students from local schools in Years 7 and 8 who have problems with Maths and English.
