I am an English teacher for young people aged 11-19 and have been teaching for 13 years. Before this I was a classroom assistant for four years. So, I have a range of teaching experiences and skills. I have worked in several schools within the area and have used several exam boards.

I love teaching and am very passionate about it. I love to read and discuss books with pupils and I have been running my own book group for two years which myself and my pupils have been enjoying. I also run other groups. I love to write and share both my reading and writing passions with pupils.
As a teacher, I am firm but fair. I work very hard to get the very best for all my students. I have high expectations and standards but I am also a realistic teacher. I am well thought of by a lot of my pupils who know I go above and beyond my job role to help them achieve and who know that I am always there for them if needed even if I no longer teach them. They think my lessons are fun and engaging and they love the fact that I reward them in a variety of ways for working hard etc... They also like that I notice all achievements no matter how small and that I acknowledge these. In addition to this, they appreciate that I talk to them as young adults with respect, get to know them and don`t talk down to them or treat them like babies. I like to make work as engaging and as interesting as possible which I do by using a range of interactive ICT resources that are relevant and engaging to young people and I use a range of teaching styles and activities to ensure that all learner`s needs are met , so that they are interested and engaged (where possible).

Further to this, I have many other interests and hobbies such as: I love going to the gym, blogging, watching Netflix, listening to music and I run my own online book group for teachers around the world I have over 300 teachers in my group!

I am a kind, warm, friendly person who loves to help people and who will do their best for anyone. I have a good sense of humour and I create calm and safe working environments for all my students. I am in my early 40s.

Availability: I am available Wednesday & Thursday from 4.45pm until 7.15pm. On Friday I`m available 4.15 -7.15.

Experience: I have never been out of education. For the last fifteen years I have been working in education, as a classroom assisstant, a trainee teacher and then an English teacher for the last 13 of those.
